To lead effectively, you must share your vision in a way that motivates partners and team members to get on board.
At the C-level, communication is all about having a conversation instead of a monologue. You want to understand your audience and make them care.
This workshop gives executives practice in the three keys to effective communications:
- Audience
- Substance
- Style
Audience: Whether you’re communicating one-on-one or presenting to groups, the principles are the same. You’ll learn how to make yourself and your message relatable so that people pay attention. You’ll also practice listening skills that help you identify and address your audience’s hot-button issues.
Substance: You’ll gain experience in techniques that engage an audience with a clear, compelling message. In place of jargon, you’ll use concise language, flagging, bridging and closing to ensure understanding. Q&A will become an opportunity to acknowledge concerns and transition back to your message.
Style: You’ll practice adjusting your style to meet the needs of your audience, from a chat over coffee to a formal meeting with an agenda. Role-plays will allow you to tweak your verbal style and body language to convey authority and generate trust.
HOW IT WORKS
Our Executive Communications Advanced Workshop can be delivered to any size group. The workshop leads with presentations on best practices and short videos demonstrating techniques. Throughout, there are multiple group exercises to highlight points and bring the lessons to life. Then we jump into role-playing sessions, which may be recorded on video for critique and learning. Participants leave the workshop as more confident and more effective communicators.
